Frequently Asked Question

Transitioning to a new networking ecosystem is a major decision, especially when your reputation and project margins are on the line. At World Star Security Cameras, our goal is to make that switch as seamless and profitable as possible for your business. We have compiled this FAQ to answer the most common questions integrators have when moving to Lysora Tech—from dropping expensive hardware controllers and protecting your pricing from consumer searches, to cutting your on-site setup time down to just three minutes. Review the details below to see exactly how Lysora is engineered to work for the professional installer.

No. Unlike Ubiquiti, which forces you to buy expensive hardware controllers just to manage your site remotely, Lysora features 100% native cloud management straight out of the box. You can configure, monitor, and troubleshoot your entire network from the Lysora web portal or mobile app without purchasing any additional management hardware.

Yes. Through the Lysora Cloud App, you have real-time visibility into the power draw of every port on your Lysora PoE switches. If an IP camera or access point locks up, you can remotely toggle the PoE power to hard-reboot that specific device directly from your smartphone, saving you the time and expense of an on-site service call

Getting started is simple. Because we protect our dealers by not selling direct-to-consumer, you must apply for an account. Contact World Star Security Cameras directly to set up your dealer profile, view exclusive partner pricing, and get a demo of the Lysora Cloud platform. Many installers are moving away from TP-Link following its recent FCC restrictions — see why Lysora is the alternative they’re switching to.

Unlike some enterprise brands that brick your hardware or lock you out of remote management if you stop paying an annual subscription, Lysora offers transparent, installer-friendly management.

Standard Ethernet is limited to 100 meters (328 feet). Lysora PoE switches feature a built-in “Extend Mode” designed specifically for IP security cameras. When activated, the switch intelligently optimizes the port’s data rate to push stable video transmission and PoE power up to 250 meters (820 feet) over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. This completely eliminates the need to buy and install expensive midspan PoE injectors or fiber media converters for perimeter cameras.

Setting up remote access for NVRs or site-to-site VPNs traditionally requires expensive public static IPs, calling the ISP, and configuring complex port forwarding rules. Lysora’s built-in NAT traversal eliminates all of this. It seamlessly punches through strict firewalls and Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT), allowing you to deploy instant remote access and SD-WAN tunnels even if the client is using Starlink, cellular internet, or a basic residential ISP modem. You get guaranteed remote connectivity without ever having to touch the ISP’s equipment

Yes. Lysora’s multi-WAN gigabit routers (like the LR300G-P) natively support load balancing and automated failover. If the client’s primary internet service goes down, the Lysora router instantly switches traffic to a secondary backup connection (like a cellular modem or secondary ISP). This ensures that critical systems like point-of-sale (POS) registers, VoIP phones, and remote security camera feeds stay online 24/7 without requiring an emergency truck roll.

Incredibly easy. Security and network performance rely on keeping heavy CCTV traffic separated from public internet users. The Lysora Cloud Portal allows you to deploy and manage VLANs across your entire network with just a few clicks. You can instantly isolate security cameras, secure back-office computers, and sandbox guest Wi-Fi networks to guarantee maximum performance and security—all without typing out complex command-line routing rules.
