If you want to set up email notifications with your NVR/DVR recorder to send out email notifications via Gmail, this tutorial will guide you on how to set up the email account. With changes in email security, Google has created a few extra steps to send emails from the recorder to a personal email. First, go to gmail.com and log in to your account. Once logged in, go to “Manage Your Google Account.”

With an extra layer of protection, you can prevent hackers from accessing your account. When you sign in, 2-Step verification ensures that your personal information remains private, secure, and safe.
Setting up your 2-Step Verification
The two-step verification protects your account from someone accessing your account without validating the account with a code that is sent to you to your mobile phone by text.
Once you get to the 2-step verification page, click on get started and follow the steps to verify your account by text or voice.
After two-step verificaiton is enabled, you will have an extra option show up under sign in to Google labeled “App Passwords,” go to that option.
Setting up App Passwords
There you will set up a custom password for the device and name that will auto-generate the password for the unit. or go to https://myaccount.google.com/u/4/apppasswords
Step one select other:
Give it a name
Generate Password to Connect to Gmail
It will generate a password that you will combine with the email to log in and send out an email.
The settings for the NVR setup is:
username: <your email account>
Password: <password generated by google apps>
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port: 587
TLS/SSL: Enable
Sender: <your custom name>
Senders Address: <your email>
NVR can do up to 6 Recipient
Recipient: Name of the person receiving the email
Recipient Emal: The person you are sending the email to.
